Level 2: Cultivating a Positive Sense of Self

Level 2: Cultivating a Positive Sense of Self

Course Objectives

During our 2-hour Level 2 course, you'll learn how to promote a positive sense of self in your patients with scoliosis. We'll discuss self-image, self-esteem, and body image issues that are commonly seen with scoliosis. We'll also discuss how to help patients cope with pain while still loving and respecting their bodies - a topic that applies to the scoliosis population but also extends far beyond this group. You'll learn about the theory and then dive into practical strategies that you can incorporate into your clinical practice tomorrow.

UPCOMING DATES: The next Level 2 training will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 10 AM CST. All course dates will be announced on our main page - click to view.

DO I HAVE TO TAKE LEVEL 1 FIRST? Yes, you must complete the Level 1 training before taking Levels 2 & 3. Level 1 lays the foundation for the next two levels. While we encourage everyone to take Level 1 synchronously, we understand that scheduling can be a challenge. If you would like to take Level 1 asynchronously and then jump into Level 2, email megan@bracingforscoliosus.org

WILL THE LEVEL 2 TRAINING BE AVAILABLE ASYNCHRONOUSLY? No, the Level 2 & 3 trainings will not be available asynchronously because they involve more group activities and hands-on learning.

IS IT WORTH THE INVESTMENT? YES! While scoliosis is our main focus here at Scolios-us, the knowledge and skills that you learn during these trainings can be applied to many patient populations. We have thoughtfully priced our courses to make them accessible to our mental health providers. We offer a $50 discount for signing up for all three levels, and we offer 60% off discounts for students and interns. We never want cost to be prohibitive, but acknowledge that cost does factor into the decision. If cost is an issue, please email us at info@bracingforscoliosus.org, so we can try to work something out.

What are providers saying about our trainings?

"The most surprising thing I learned was all the ways that we could be incorporating tools into the clinical practice to possibly upstream and maybe even prevent the downstream mental health issues. Fantastic course!" - Amber M, NP

"My favorite part of the course was connecting the scoliosis experience to the mental health impact. The case examples were also fun/informative." -Alexis O, Clinical Psychology PsyD Student

"My favorite part was being able to connect face to face with Elisabetta and Megan and the other mental health workers!" - Anita A, RTCc with ACCT
