Lydia
My name is Lydia, and I am 28-years-old. I wore a scoliosis brace from 6th grade to Sophomore of College and then I (finally) graduated out of my brace! When I first got fitted with my brace, I would try to hide in my room until summer ended. Then, I was told that I had to wear it for 23 hours of the day. I was very nervous about wearing it to school and playing soccer or being bullied in school. I took this opportunity to educate everyone I could about my Wonder Woman Brace. As I wore it, I gained more confidence and eventually it just became a normal part of life. I know I’m stronger now because of my scoliosis experience. Sometimes, I miss that hunk of devil plastic 🙂
I chose to become a Team Leader because I want to support and guide other scoli warriors on their journeys. I am looking forward to getting to know my team and taking on the scoli world together!
In my free time, I love reading, yoga/pilates, traveling, and playing with little doggie! I am for volunteer needs and help with Girls on the Run and my Jr. League Community Service group and at the Human Society.
