My name is Olivia. I am 15-years-old and live in Pennsylvania. I am currently a freshman in high school and have been a mentor for the Scoliosis-us Mentor Program for 2 years now. I was diagnosed with Scoliosis in 2017 when I was in 6th grade. I was braced with a WCR brace for 3years, but I no longer have to wear one!
Originally my cures were in the low 20 degrees, but they are now in the high 40 degrees. I know how awful adjusting to scoliosis can be, so I want to do everything I can to help as many people as possible who are going through similar experiences.
I am involved in the school musical as well as few clubs. Specifically, forensics and debate club, Shakespeare club, environmental club, and SHOUT club. I am also on the student council and am class president and treasurer. I do JROTC and am on the Raiders team. Some sports I take part in are Cross Country and Roller Derby. I also danced for 11 years. I volunteer at my local humane society with the homeless cats— cats are my favorite animals! I also volunteer at Read Across America and Special Olympics bowling. I’m looking forward to meeting you, even if we don’t have much in common, we all have our Scoliosis journey to relate to! 😊
